KTLA to Rebroadcast 5/8 Episodes of Gilmore/Veronica This Saturday
KTLA fans, you've been heard. We just received word that KTLA will rebroadcast last night's episodes of Gilmore Girls and Veronica Mars this Saturday, May 12. For those that didn't hear, KTLA interrupted the episodes with live coverage of a major Los Angeles fire.
Here's the schedule:
Saturday, May 12
8 PM: Gilmore Girls
9 PM: Veronica Mars
We're relieved -- we wouldn't want you to have to wait until after the Gilmore finale to see Rory's graduation! Now you'll have your chance on Saturday. Get more info from KTLA!
Comments
I had no idea that I had missed the last episode. Will they be airing it again??!!??

I agree with viewers that were upset about the fire coverage. KTLA should have let Gilmore Girl viewers understand that they would be missing the one to final episode completely. A fire is serious, but viewers can be updated during commercials for an hour.

I just found the entire episode on You Tube. It is in 10 minute increments. Do a search on...
♥ GG 7x21,7.21- Gilmore Girls season 7 episode 21 (Part One).
There is no part 3, just go from 2 to 4 and you won't miss anything.

I was gone this weekend, and I tried recording last weeks Gilmore Girls, but it didn't work! GREAT! :-(
The recap that they give really helps though!
I can't believe Gilmore Girls is over. There is so many things that I would like to see happen. I would've liked to see Rory say yes to Logan's proposal! It would've been a new chapter in her life. Logan and Rory are perfect together!
Here's how I think they should've ended the series:
1) Logan proposes, Rory says yes.
2) Rory graduates
And the big finale= The reception for Rory and Logan's wedding is also like a goodbye party...
It would be in Stars Hollow and EVERYONE would be there. And you see the 2 newly weds driving off, Rory looking back waving. And Lorilei and Luke, standing together, holding hands (they've made up if u dont understand this gesture!)

I too missed the reair because of Mothers Day weekend, please consider showing them again this Tuesday, before the final, starting at 6pm. I dont understand why Orange County had to be included in the fire coverage, if it was in San Diego or Riverside we would not of had to endure the special broadcast. Orange County is NOT Los Angeles!!!

I too missed the show because of the fire and did not know about the rebroad casting untill right know. You need to reshow it again.

I could not watch the re-airing of the preempted 5-8 GG. So disappointed. I could see the fire very clearly from my street so if I wanted to stare at flames, I could have. Now I can't watch GG on the CW website...can't even purchase it from itunes. Maybe some sports viewers are ok with being forced to watch a fire, but the smart, sensitive women who watch GG do not get mesmerized by flames. Next time - crawler - where only pertinent info. gets aired and the viewer is given a choice.

Darn, I Tivoed Veronica Mars but did not watch it until Sunday night. What the heck? If only I'd found this out on Saturday night. I wish there was info about the schedule change during the Griffith Park fire coverage.

Please reconsider Gilmore Girls. GG and Seven Heaven are my two favorit shows and both will be ending. Thanks

Many people did not know about the 'rebroadcast' of this past weeks episode (I taped and hadn't had time to watch this week and was informed by friend today, Sun. May 13th, of show not being on in full and came on and found out we all missed watching the 'rebroadcast'. I for one, will not get involved in another CW show with all the times Gilmore Girls was not on this season due to basketball games and now this. I watched Gilmore Girls and 7th Heaven from the beginning and got many people watching both but I'm done with the "New CW" now. I felt lost through the season due to the basketball schedule cancelling episodes and now this with the second to last show of the series. What a shame to do to the fans in L.A. with L.A. probably being one of the biggest fan bases of many of your shows!

I'm sick about it all. And to make matters worse, after informing all my Gilmore friends that the episode was to re-air, after an unusually busy Saturday I forgot to watch it!! Shame on you, KTLA, for interrupting the show in the first place for an "news" update that really could have been done during a commercial break! We got two minutes of actual news followed by hours of speculation and ramblings! CBS was much wiser - using commercial breaks to update the public on the fires without interrupting the shows.
As to the Gilmore Girls being over - I knew there were negotiating problems but everywhere I read about it the shows creators promised that they would make sure to tie things up. How can you tie up loose ends in two episodes for a show that has been part of our lives for seven year? Impossible! If the powers that be really cared about their viewing audience they could have come up with some solution to at least continue the show one more season to really flesh out a better ending. I have no idea who to write to in order to complain so at least I can get this off my chest. Higher salaries for one more season would not have killed them - probably wouldn't have even dented the old pocket book - but greed out weighs all else!
I'm going to miss you all - Lorelei, Rory, Luke and even Logan. Miss Patty, Babbette .... the richly eccentric characters have been a welcome relief to me every Tuesday. I feel as if a part of my family is leaving town.
Bye, Gilmore Girls!!

To all of those whining about the importance of airign the fires, I was affected by the fire. I spent a good portion of the day watching with my former neighbors as their houses were nearly burnt. They burned all around the houses, fire breaks kept them safe. My dear friend lost an "outbuildind" that actually contained very valuable and dear things and equipment.
Thing is...this fire is nothing that KTLA even cared about. It got not a second of coverage during that entire three hours. It isn't about a dangerous fire. It's about news organizations picking and choosing for us, thinking they no better.
There were some pretty funny comments from my couch later that night as the evacuated sat and watched the fire that was burning in LA with no hint at what was going on at their house. They wanted to see Gilmore Girls.

I teach school, and Gilmore Girls has gotten me through Tuesday afternoon with 5th graders for the last seven years. I'll miss it, but since I have the DVD's, I'll enjoy it for years to come.
I'm also relieved to hear that Veronica Mars will probably be back. I hope the cast change mentined in the article I read doesn't include her father. He's one of my favorite actors, and the relationship between Veronica and her father is one of the reasons I like the show so much.
If we can't have Gilmore Girls, then I'll be content with Veronica Mars. I have one more year to teach, and I need something to look forward to on Tuesdays when the fifth graders are drving me crazy. Smallville does it for me on Thursdays

I LOVE Gilmore Girls, and ok maybe I have no life, but I look so forward to Tues nights at 8pm. I am sad GG is ending, the writers are genius, it's so different. I had my dinner all ready, ready to relax and watch GG, then Hal Fishman came on the screen and I was flipping out! ( I kind of make fun of myself) but yes, I'm very sorry for the fires, but I agree with the other postings, a message at the bottom of the screen would have sufficed. Or during commercial breaks. It just went on & on, and I was very disappointed. So thank you for re-airing the show.
Posted by: Cheryl | May 10, 2007 2:12 PM
I THINK GG IS A GREAT SHOW. I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY IT IS THE FINAL SEASON, IT'S A SHAME :( ANOTHER THING I DID NOT LIKE WAS THE FACT THAT RORY SAID NO TO LOGAN I THINK THEY ARE PERFECT FOR EACH OTHER BECAUSE HE IS EVERYTHING THAT HE'S NOT AND THAT IS WHAT IT TAKES TO MAKE A RELATIONSHIP WORK
Posted by: MELANIE | May 10, 2007 11:54 AM
I like that you're showing the missed Gg epi. on saturday. Not that i can watch it(no KTLA in germany)but definitive something that this show deserves. Thanks.

Everyone has pretty much said my thoughts... Completely frustrating to us loyal GG fans to have had the show pre-empted last night. Apparently FOX and ABC's high ratings for AI and Dancing with the Stars were more important than the "REAL EVENTS" of the fire last night. We do appreciate KTLA re-airing the episode on Saturday. Fires are always a horrible thing and my thoughts and well wishes go out to anyone affected by the fires. But I agree, that if you were affected by the fires, you weren't watching TV last night and us not affected are not shallow for wanting to see the GG episode last night.
I also want to thank all the fire fighters and emergency workers that put their lives on the line to keep us safe.
And with that said, I have just one last comment... If you are going to preach to us "shallow" GG viewers about how "REAL EVENTS" are more important than our "shallow" GG episode, I would have hoped that your anger and disdain would have provoked a stronger name than "PILLOW PANTS"... PLEASE, if you want to make a point and have people take you seriously, please choose a name other than "PILLOW PANTS!" May I suggest a name like... well nevermind, that just wouldn't be nice.
OH, by the way, I didn't see any comments from "PILLLOW PANTS" in the AI chat rooms or the Dancing with the Stars chat rooms telling them how shallow they were for actually watching their programs and not switching over to KTLA and watching Hal Fishman regurgitate the same info for hours about the "REAL EVENTS" that occurred last night. So, apparently the fact that those viewers got to see their shows last night make them upstanding, unshallow citizens like yourself "PILLOW PANTS." Or maybe I am wrong and they all did switch over and watched the ongoing coverage along with you "PILLOW PANTS." Thank god for "PILLOW PANTS!" I think your unselfish act of relentlessly watching the coverage on KTLA saved Hal Fishman's job... Well done "PILLOW PANTS!"

Thank you so much KTLA for re-airing Gilmore Girls this Saturday evening; thank goodness for DVR’s.
I don’t want to be rude but I think it time for Mr. Hal Fishman to retire. I couldn’t even watch your news broadcast in regard to the fires because Hal would ask someone a question, then over talk them when they went to answer his questions. This is very frustrating to listen to. Mr. Fishman has done a great job for you in the past but it time to let in some new blood in.

If it were yourself, your friends, or your family affected by the fire, HOPEFULLY, you wouldn't be so calise about the coverage. a scroll at the bottom of the screen does not realistically convey the dramatic effect of the fire. honestly, i look forward to tuesday's because of gilmore girls...but seriously...people need to put things into perspective.

I was extremely disappointed that the Gilmore Girls episode was preempted by news coverage of the Griffith Park fire. First, this was the penultimate episode of the series, not just the season. Second, updates of the fire could have been provided during commercial breaks and with a rolling scroll during the show. In my opinion, it is an understatement to say that this was a really, really poor decision.

Thank you for giving us the chance to see the Gilmore girls in saturday.

GG is my favorite show and i was EXTREMELY disappointed that i didn't get to see it last night. that being said, anyone who has lived in LA long enough knows how devastating it would have been to have the observatory burned. the fire didn't personally involve me, but i am grateful that the coverage was there considering the magnitude and history of that monument; not to mention the location of homes and sites near that location. i'm glad i was informed. there was no doubt in my mind that KTLA would reair the episodes, especially with there only being 1 more episode after this left. just consider the big picture guys. for those of you who don't have tivo, a dvr, or vhs to record the reairing, i'm sorry for that. i'm especially sorry that you're living in 1984. but to make rory's graduation a priority over this tragedy is borderline disgusting to me
Posted by: Brandy1921 | May 9, 2007 8:49 PM
Well I personally am upset about the show getting interrupted because there is a great chance I wont get to watch the re airing this is bs. No other channel not even fox aired the fire over their programs.

I am so bummed that a great family show has to end. Whatever happened to clean shows, it seems like alot of them are disappearing.
Posted by: Blue Moon | May 9, 2007 5:15 PM
You know what, Mrs. Fishman, you're right. Making fun of Mr. Fishman's toupee is a low blow. In future I will keep my derogatory comments about Mr. Fishman solely to his deficiencies as a journalist, which are legion.
Posted by: Mark Grinolds | May 9, 2007 5:10 PM
I can understand their desire to get us the news. BUT I watched it and they provided NO information. The anchors called their friends' cell phones. Hal kept calling different airports and asking what their wind measurement was. He also kept telling Willa Sandmeyer to ask the same questions that she had just asked people ON THE AIR. He wasn't even listening! If they were a GOOD news service, I would totally be with those calling us "whiners," but really they're TERRIBLE. They had no information and looked like morons on the air. A news scroll at the bottom would have been plenty.
Posted by: chippychap | May 9, 2007 4:59 PM
To Marky Mark: So what if Hal has a toupee? So what if he's folically challenged? He's still a newsman, just trying to do the best job he can. Maybe when you lose your own hair someday you'll understand. Until then I don't expect you to be very empathetic towards the bald man's burden.

Anyone whose life was threatened by the fire WAS NOT WATCHING KTLA. Their power was out. No TV. And no one here is suggesting that there shouldn't have been a crawl on the screen or a short break-in every now and then. But to pre-empt two hours of sweeps programming with nothing to report expect "Look! Fire!" does a disservice to the viewers. Also, L.A. has an all-news channel in KCAL. No other affiliate felt the need to interrupt all of their programming last night. Why KTLA?
I understand the "it's just a show" mentality. But KTLA is a network affiliate. Their job, their entire reason for being, is to provide entertainment content. Yes, there is a news division. But when your senior anchor is Hal Fishman, you don't get to claim that news trumps entertainment. The guy is a joke.
I'm not being shallow here. Being shallow would be an entire post dedicated to ennumerating the many things wrong with Hal Fishman's toupee. It is not shallow to expect a network affliliate to uphold the implied contract it has with viewers.
No one complained at the pre-emptions during 9/11. No one complained during the riots. The very fact that this many people are complaining says something about the validity of the complaint. KTLA did not save anyone's life last night by pre-empting these shows, but it did break a few hearts.
Posted by: Mark Grinolds | May 9, 2007 4:16 PM
to pp. we are not saying they shouldnt of informed the public regarding the fire. but if you were really in danger the police and fire department would of notified you, plus you wouldnt of been watching tv at home if evacuated, so obviously didnt apply. did it really require over two hours to cover the same info over and over, couldnt they of just put the information at the bottom of the tv, and if so important why didnt the other major stations cover it or government have the emergency broadcast alert. please, you are wrong, very, very wrong. and i live in orange county, not la, so i could care less!! i highly doubt you sat through the whole fire coverage for a couple of hours, because after 5 minutes it was completely worthless. just like you.

To all the Gilmore fans whining about their show getting cut off by NEWS -
Personally, I am glad for interrupted coverage. I love me some Gilmore, but I'm happy that for once LA's powder puff station did a public service by informing us of a LIFE-THREATENING situation.
For God sakes, it's just a show. Sure, fires in LA happen all the time, but I like to know about them when they are happening. Excuse me for my need to be informed about REAL EVENTS.
Normally, I hate using caps but I can't stand some of the ridic comments I've seen on this board. The shallowness is appalling.
And now, I must go. But don't miss me. I'll be back...

For those of us that DIDN'T see it, thanks for the spoiler of Rory saying NO! Bad enough show being pulled, then interrupted, then the site showing what happened. UGH
Posted by: Constance | May 9, 2007 3:42 PM
As I sent to the Station Management, I will not be thanking the people at KTLA for doing their jobs, namely to broadcast CW content and present regularly scheduled news. The fire did not require two hours of useless coverage by Hal Fishman, a man who makes Ted Baxter look like Ted Koppel.
I want those two hours of my life back which I spent sitting and waiting for my shows to come on (and desperately searching the net for some rebroadcast info).
Waiting five days for this programming is unacceptable.

i say that rory should have said yes because if she loves logan like she says she does she would have taken that next step. and its good she felt bad because logan is a great if i was her i would had say yes in a heart beat. they should had written in the script that rory says yes so when the series finaly happens they can promot the new series with logan and rory with them getting married and the could get more money but what can you do some peopla dont have such good ideas so this one have in the series finaly that logan shows up and proposes and rory says yes and they can make a new show so thats my idea.
thanks for all gilmores,
the #1 gilmore fan

Thank God for those fans that know how to navigate through your website and get their message to you! I have never replied to a television station regarding their programming but I had to get my voice heard regarding the interrupted episode of Gilmore Girls "that was outrageous and unacceptabel!! Thanks for the rebroadcast.
