Bon Voyage, Rory; Bon Voyage, Gilmore Girls
So, what did you think of the Gilmore finale? Was it what you were expecting? We liked it, but we wanted more. One hour just wasn't enough to say farewell to all the characters and pack in all the scenes we wanted. And while it was great to see Lane, Michel, Kirk, Sookie, and the rest of the Stars Hollow regulars, it felt kind of off to have a series finale without Paris (sob! we can never get enough Paris) or Logan (or Dean, or Jess, depending on your favorite Rory paramour).
The big question... did you cry? Um, we definitely did... how could we keep a dry eye with all the goodbyes? The tears started when Lorelai tried to keep busy, they really flowed when Richard told Lorelai she was a remarkable woman, and then, when Rory praised Lorelai on the podium at her party: "My mom is everything to me... and everything I am," well, we just lost it. Lorelai has done SO much to be the mom Rory needs, and to hear Rory publicly acknowledge it in front of the entire town must have been the ultimate reward.
What did you think of the final moments before Rory left? There was Lorelai, babbling on as only she can, about what Rory might need for her trip, and Rory cutting through the chatter: "Mom, you've already given me everything I need." Just one sentence, but it rang so true. Lorelai really has given Rory everything she needs to make it on her own.
Did you like the way the series ended with Rory and Lorelai talking over coffee at Luke's? There was something comforting about seeing them bantering just like any other day with Luke behind the counter brewing coffee and prepping a greasy diner breakfast. Yes, we know lots of fans wanted a major event (a Rory/Logan or Luke/Lorelai wedding) to send off the girls in style, but this scene was so classically Gilmore, it seemed more appropriate. Simple, yes, but moving.
We can't forget the Luke/Lorelai kiss (we've only been waiting ALL season), but it was almost an afterthought in a townie-packed episode. We did like how the door for Luke and Lorelai was left wide open. Finally, Luke's learned to express himself to Lorelai! And finally, after a very ill-advised marriage and subsequent singledom, she's in the right place in her life, ready to have him. Even though we won't see it on our TV screens, we like imagining those two sharing many more mornings together in Stars Hollow.
So in a nutshell -- we wanted more, but we'll take what we got. And we'll be rewatching it again shortly, tissues in hand. Season 7 had its ups and downs, but at least we got a sendoff worthy of this witty, lovable drama. Gilmore Girls, we'll miss you, but you went out in style.
What did you think? Was it what you wanted? What you expected? Tell us your thoughts on the finale!

rory and logan should get married and rory should not say i cant do this she needs to say yes wen he asks her to marry him they are soooo good together and love each other and make each other happy and he say good bye rory after she says i cant do this

I love this show, it makes me super happy to know that Lorelai and Luke are together, i didn't think marrige was for them. they just seemed to be so happy with the way they were. I wish that Rory could have ended up with Jess or Dean, Logan was kind of a butt head. But all in all it was great and I'm going to miss it.

for all of those that keep sayiing it didnt go out in style blah blah blah.. it wasnt the planned finale
the finale had been planeed for a couple seasons but this episode was shot and after being shot it was decided there would be no season 8, they never got to using the closing line they had planned on, nor we they able to end the show with closure because at the time, they didnt even know it was ending.

The Gilmore Girls did not go out of style,if you brought it back you make a whole lot of people's day.I mean Rory was a inspration to girls like me.So was Lorelai.Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel are the most coolest people I hope to meet.

Ok. I need a season 8. I've been watching since I was 11 and now I'm 18 and well to tell you the truth I'm hurt. I like to cuddle up on the coach with my mom and watch the only show that I can bond with her. Plus, I want my kids to be like them so perfect well maybe not perfect but you know. And what is going on with Logan I miss him, and now he's walking away from her??? YEAH RIGHT! PLease make a season 8 I know millions want at least another couple shows. Luke and Lorelei need the dream wedding and kid's before you end this. OR Make a MOVIE! So I can show my kids this down the road and not remember how badly you just ended the show! Just something anything!!!

Like so many others, we here want to know what happened?! So much of the last season was wasted with stretched out episodes and meaningless relationships! Did somebody die??!? *sarcastic*
Why was everything dropped so abruptly? This really is unfair to so many fans who followed the show faithfully. It's insulting really, you guys owe us much more! GG TV Movie time! We've got the popcorn popping!
Thanks for letting us rant,
Laura and Chloe

what is with logan?? I´m sad about the ending and i don´t know how i can see the other seasons with the knowledge, that they break at the end!!!! and what happend with lorelai and luke and his daughter??
I think the fans need a 8th season... please!!!!
Posted by: Carola | September 25, 2007 5:41 AM
i think that the ending would have been perfect if the relationships that were so important would have been part of it. it wouldnt need another season if that would have been in the finale. logan should not have been cut out like he was and lorelai should have fixed things with luke. since these things didnt occur, i think that there REALLY NEEDS TO BE ANOTHER SEASON. i was very disappointed overall with the finale and while some people think it was very fitting, i do not. i want another season.

Don't cancel gilmore girls... they still have about 2 more seasons left in them. it's such a good show and i bet if you bought it back the rating would go up!

well i have seen every single episode of gilmore girls from the first to the last. i love that show and i will continue to watch the reruns i do think that it did stink to not be able to see what happend to lorelli and luke... rory and logan should have gotten married that just wasnt the best way to end it and there for sure has to be another season with all the same people or else it wont be the same. i will always love this show but the ending could have been better than what it was shown to be if they arent gonna make another season at least make the final one 2 hours. that show was amazing and i think that every episode touched someone whenever they watched it and even though it didnt end in the best way i know that i got touched by this show and im gonna buy every single copy of the dvds to watch over and over again cause i love it soo much!

I LOVED THE GILMORE GIRLS!!!! Like Lorelei I raised my Daughter by myself and had extremely difficult times with my family. The show was an inspiration to me because I used to watch and say that I, like Lorelei, put my Daughter before anything and could do what ever it took to give her the life she deserved. My daughters father also was in and out of her life and did not always make the best decisions for Lillian and I met a man that, like Luke, would be wonderful for us, but I had my doubts. I can not begin to tell you how much I looked forward to Tuesday nights and how devastated I was to know that the show was over. I truly believe that the show had a wonderful quality and had wonderful values to teach people. I miss the show and would love to see it back on the air.

i love....... gilmore girls,and i hope there will be a movie, to see what happens to rory and lorelai . the season final was sad and awsome. i couldn't stop crying.{but i would have wanted jess there, oh well}
Posted by: thalia | August 10, 2007 3:33 PM
The Gilmore Girls was high quality in every way! Such a breath of fresh air! Something to look forward to in the empty wilderness TV has become. I will miss it a lot & am not happy that it will not be lighting up the world any longer.

RORY AND LOGAN !!!! UNBELIEVABLE. i cant believe they broke up just like that. and lorelei and luke need an ending too. rorys move sucks. i am just in complete and utter DISBELIEF of logan and rorys breaking up.
Posted by: abby | July 26, 2007 1:13 AM
I cant believe the show is actually over! I lve that show and didnt think It would end. Well I possibly only liked it because Jared was in it! But out of all I'd give it 100%
Posted by: Lisa Ghaffari | July 17, 2007 5:38 PM
I like the whole basic idea of the show Gilmore Girls!....but the finale wasn't the best! I actually disliked how we were totally ripped off on the luke/ loreli relationship! I mean we have waited for years for these two to oget married!!! and you leave the ending up to our imaginations?!!! No! You created two characters that are perfect for eachother... and we never actually got to see them really together again!!! We (meaning all fans) were definetly ripped off on the finale ending... and their should definelty be an eighth season!! Many people think so and they would definelty watch!! Luke and Loreli were destend to be together and the CW should definelty think about continuing on in an 8th season!

i didn't watch it yet, but reading the recap of it, i know i'm not gonna like the finale and i'm going to be extremely disappointed. after amy sherman-palladino quit or whatever, i stopped watching the [new] series'. she's the reason gilmroe girls was a success . I wish we could see what she would've done for the ending. I'm going to miss this series dearly
Posted by: Lexxii | June 27, 2007 8:47 PM
so...it was sad how it ended and i never thought a finale could leave one person feeling so full of questions...will rory be okay, will luke pull it together, what about jess? why couldn't he show up...after all he and rory had been through together...don't you think it deserved another hour or come on maybe one more season to end things for good so people Won't feel so rushed? I guess it's too late because how can rory turn around and come back? how can jess be placed back into the show if he is too busy too even come back...how can Luke fix things with the way it is... i just miss it so much! haven't missed one episode, i've laughed, i've cried, i've screamed at the character who needed it and it is just so sad to see it all go to waste in the time span of an hour...so sad...i guess robert frost was right...nothing gold can stay...
P.s. jess should have been rory's! i don't care about independence she's proven that already. what she needed was a boy who would treat her right and still make her rebellious...so sad!
GOOD-BYE GILMORE GIRLS!
GOOD-BYE JESS
GOOD-BYE STARS HOLLOW!

I have been watching this show ever since the first evening it appeared on my livingroom screen. I have watched the ups and the downs, the love triangles, etc.. but I had definitly fallen in love with all of the characters! I also believe that Rory had found her perfect match and it is a shame that the series did not end with a yes to LOGAN and a Lorelai and Luke wedding. I understand that the producers wanted to show that Rory is growing up and can be on her own and living life but to end the series that way was a waste. I shed no tears, felt nothing, it was a total waste!!!!

Do not cancel Gilmore Grils, I look forward every week to watching this great series. Besides 7th Heaven it is the only series that is clean, wholesome and without some form of violence. The show is a great show, taking Gilmore Girls off the air is making room for a show with lots of sex and voilence. There are plenty of shows with that! We do not need any more. Please bring back the show in September!!!!
Thank You!

Bon Voyage was not a Proper Season/Series Ending my Gawd it wasn't even 2 hours!!!! How can you even say it was! Faithful Fans have watched Gilmore from the very start and you DARE believe that was Good Enough to Call it the Finale? Shame on you! It was contrite and rushed! You believe that we would accept that? You are Sorely Mistaken! We have stuck with the shown even after you pushed out Amy and her Husband the Creators in the First Place. Because we all fell in love with the Charm and the Chemistry of the People. The Characters of the Cast Made the SHOW! NOT CW NOT DAWN SURELY NOT DAVID!!!! IT was SCOTT Patterson and KELLY BISHOP and Lauren and Alexis and other the other Actors and Actresses in the Show that we came to Appreciate. If you don't realize how serious the Fans are about this look at the phone lines CW look at your mailbags! Look up on the internet you have all over the World from Italy to the Netherlands Upset about this. http://www.gilmoregirls.org/forum/index.php?topic=6630.0 Look at the Yellow Daisys!! You Have Disappoint Your Fan Base No Wonder the Sponsers themselves are responding to us Like Kellogs telling us they TOO are Disappointed! Something to Ponder if you are trying to Self Destruct your Network?

I wish GG wouldn't end. There's always more to lives like those two have had so far. The show was smart and involving and the one show I never missed. It doesn't seem real that they won't be back next season. The finale and all the other shows were just wonderful. I can't wait for this season to come out on DVD.

It was very sad to see it end. But it did end gracefully. I hope all the actors go on to do other work as I really enjoyed their work and they will be greatly missed for me.Good Luck Gilmore Girls actors. Its obvious we all hated to see you go but
GOOD LUCK!

I can't believe Gilmore Girls is over. My mom and I live on opposite sides of the state and the only thing we share now together is 7th Heaven and Gilmore Girls. Since the very beginning on both shows. 7th Heaven is now gone and at the same time Gilmore Girls! That's cruel and unusual punishment. Bring them back, so we can keep our tradition going. This is what we share. Our phone calls=Sunday @ 9pm and Tuesday @ 9pm. What do we do now?
Posted by: Lisa | May 24, 2007 6:23 PM
there was no closure, gilmore girls did not end in style, it was like any other episode and you have us waiting for the rest!

How dare you cancell Gilmore Girls!!! I can't believe it. It was our favorite show ever! You are losing soooo many viewers. it is like you want to end the whole channel. We bought all the seasons and now we can't finish the whole set cause that was not an ending. There are soooo many fans who are disappointed that it is gone. Why cancell a show if there are so many fans who LOVE it???? PLEASE BRING GILMORE GIRLS BACK! PRETTY PLEASE.

Posted by: Erika | May 21, 2007 12:02 PM
how can most of you on here call your self fan's? The ending to the series was the worst thing ive ever seen. It was rushed like they wated it over with and looked like they taped it in a day, there acting and witty comments were there. I think The producers should be ashamed, this show and all other shows are about the fans. Ever since The WB changed to the CW its gone down hill. Im going to miss the gilmore girls.
Posted by: Jennifer | May 21, 2007 6:14 AM
I have watched all 7 seasons of Gilmore Girls faithfully and I have to say that I was pleased with the ending. If I could petition with The CW to keep it I would, but since my voice will most likely not affect anything, I will just say I love Gilmore Girls. The last episode covered a lot and let us imagine what would happen next. It ended the way it should.. in the diner, just chatting, Luke at work behind the counter... Just like the pilot.
Classy ending, Gilmore Girls!
Posted by: Kathryn | May 18, 2007 11:26 PM
I was pleased with the final show. It covered alot in an hour. I too shed more than a few tears. To end it with them in Lukes Diner was perfect. I hate to see it end.
MONEY TALKS CW !!!! Bring back Both 7th Heaven & Gilmore Girls.
Posted by: sheila | May 18, 2007 4:18 PM
They're at Lukes – he’s making them breakfast – at the table with their usual back and forth banter... the song plays while the camera pans out --- PERFECT ending! The show went out in true Gilmore style. It will be missed!

I just can not understand why Rosenthal has had to ruin this show.
I have to repeat the question I asked last October (24, 2006).
Option 1: he has an agreement with Amy in order to destroy the show
Option 2: he's a masochist
Option 3: they need to launch a new show
Option 4: he feels lucky (?)
Option 5: he feels lucky and double on a contract for another year.
Option 6: he's stupid while directing Gilmore girls
He could just settle the disaster, that Amy SP made leaving, in 3/4 episodes and give us a great season. 7.19-7.22 could have been 7.05-7.08, about Lorelai-Luke story lines, and then having a lot of amazing stories and episodes.
Fan fiction writers are often better than professionals.

Gilmore Girls, (entire show staff) my daughter and I will really miss you. Lauren and Alexis, you guys portrayed these characters to perfection! My daughter and I cried for a while, my daughter was especially heart broken as this show was so close to our own life. Not sure why the show was cancelled, but I truly hope this is not the complete end. Sorry CW and all other channels, there's nothing left worth watching.

Now see, I loved it. I thought it was PERFECT for the show, very satisfying. I would have liked the kiss to have been focused on longer, but I didn't even miss Logan. I don't see how it could go another season after that show - that would be an afterthought.

It really felt like goodbye, and made me quite emotional, as goodbyes tend to do. It was nice to see most of the characters again. I'll miss them all very much. A huge thank you to Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel and the rest of the cast for being a part of our lives for 7 years, even if in the end, it feels too short. I still appreciate the time they gave us. Good luck to them all!

I cried during all those moments and for about an hour after it ended. there was so much more that could've been done with the Gilmore Girls, i was extremely disappointed with the series finale episode. It could have been SO much better! let me just say, i will never EVER start watching another show on the CW other than Smallville because the CW clearly doesn't care about their viewers or the quality of a good show. I don't ever trust them again to create a good show that actually has a consistent storyline that they can tie together. They've ruined everything the WB and the previous writers have created. Way to suck at life, CW.
Posted by: dan | May 17, 2007 8:47 AM
BIG, HUGH, MISTAKE in cancelling the Gilmore Girls. What's wrong with you people. First it was Everwood, which I am still upset about, and now this!!!!! Why, needed the time slot for another Crimeshow or Hospital drama. With the way life is in America we don't need any more of them. We need FAMILY Shows. Consider bringing both shows back. I was watching 4 shows a week on your network now its down to 1. BAD MOVE.

All say the same thing:
nice episode, one of the two or three best in the season,
but it was not a series finale.
Posted by: Kurt | May 17, 2007 2:20 AM
I hated the ending. I wanted to see Lorilae finally get married to Luke. I am so so unhappy about the show ending. Not a good Move people!! Bring it back with the same cast and with the Palladin's!!! Please!! I am so upset!!
Posted by: BJ | May 16, 2007 11:21 PM
I was incredibly dissapointed with the finale. It just seemed like another episode. I think they definitely needed to have 2 hour finale because like so many others said, so many questions were left unanswered. And I also hated how Logan was cut out of the picture so fast like that. After three years, and all they have been through together they just cut him out. I thought it was lame and Rory should have said yes. And I don't like how it ended with open options between Luke and Lorelai. They should come back for an 8th Season because that would wrap up all the loose ends. Just like 7th Heaven did. I really did love the very ending though when Lorelai was wearing the necklace Luke bought her and how her and Rory were just talking in the diner like everything was normal and nothing was going to change. But they need to come back for an 8th Season or do some sort of special finale to tie up all the loose ends and unanswered questions

My girlfriend is a huge Gilmore Girls fan. Over the years I began watching, somewhat grudgingly in the beginning, but I must admit I had a tear in my eye through the whole final episode...
Posted by: Sam | May 16, 2007 10:11 PM
I am very disappointed in the CW and all the other powers that be for dismissing this show this quickly. The writers wasted most of season 7 on Christopher. What was that about? Then to add insult to injury for those of us who love this story, these people and Stars Hollow, the CW pulls the plug on what was one of the classiest shows on TV. The audience who have followed this show for 7 years were given about 2 weeks notice that it would be no more. Well, the CW will hopefully lose a lot of viewers for their hand in this mishandling of storylines we have come to love. We get to see Luke and Loralaie arrive at some quick acknowledgment that (I guess) they love each other and have the one kiss. Each towns person gets to say a few lines and flit off. Loralai's parents have a miniscual showing up at the celebration. If this were not the last show, then I would say, what a great, heartwarming episode, and thanks for bringing back more of the Stars Hollow folk and stories centering around these eccentrics. For a last show of a 7-year series, I think it was a selfish act to do this to all of us who just knew that Luke and Loralaie would eventually "find their way" and looked forward to their marriage. We saw a peek of Luke as a dad of a teenager, so why not allow us to see Luke as the father-to-be and then with his own baby? How could the writers, producers, and the CW pull this on those of us who looked forward during the past 7 years of traveling to Stars Hollow each week? They did not give the main plots for the main characters to play out properly. The rug was pulled from under us. And I ask why did they waste all of those episodes on Chris with Loralai? The plug was pulled because those of us who love the show hated that story line, but Chris kept getting thrown at us here and there every season. The 7th season, they basically inundated us with Christopher, and this killed the show because it lost faithful viewers. I am sad that Stars Hollow is no more, and I would have been sad if it ended 2 years from now. But this is a different sadness full of disappointment because the ending of this long, usually well-written series was abruptly closed for business. We, the fans, deserved to see the complete unfolding of Luke with Loralai, marriage, baby and all played out amidst the colorful Stars Hollow town folk. Shame on you, CW. I will not watch what you put on your station again because you pulled the plug on a show without any regard for those of us who watched for 7 years. Who would trust you again with your other series? Not I.

I have loved the Gilmore Girls since it started and is one of the shows that isn't teaching young people to be a just sexy models, but about real life situations with single moms, relationships and following your dreams, and going to college. If the show was losing viewers to another network change the time. Iam really sad that corp doesn't see the real value of this kind of show.

I am really glad that they kept going for seven years. Even though it had to come to an end i am really happy with the ending and all of the epsiodes that went on. Thank you for seven years.

I cried during all three of those moments. Great end to a great show. I loved the last scene - how it ended in Luke's Diner.

The finale was very fitting for the Gilmore Girls and I liked this episode far more than the rest of Season 7. I loved how things were not neatly tied up, that would be far to cheesy.
I liked how Rory declined Logan's proposal - in one of the previous season's episodes it was stated how Rory would love to be a traveling correspondent and that is where she starts. She worked hard at Chilton and Yale, so much of the show was dedicated to her education and getting a career is great. I do think that when Rory is on the campaign trail she will met up with Logan.
I would have loved to see Lorelai and Luke elope when Lorelai suggested it. I hated the story line of of Chris coming back into her life and the marriage, but I was glad to see things pick up between those two.
I really loved how open the ending was, as if they really out there continuing to live their lives.
PS - I hated Lane's story line. Why did she have to hate sex and get pregnant with twins?

i am very very upset that gilmore girls ended and i also agree at the fact the gilmore girls should have been a 2 hour finale and i love this show i cried sooo much while i was watching it and dont you think that christopher who is rory's dad should have been included i mean wouldnt you tell ur dad if you were on the presedential campaign but i definatley think they should come back and ended properly like 7th heaven did

The series finaly was a let down. It really seemed that they took the easy way out. They didn't try to answer any unanswered questions but instead the whole episode was everyone saying their goodbyes. It really looks like the CW just suddenly decided to end the show. I do give them credit for it ending how it did if they were really trying to hurry up and get it over with. I really do think that the CW is going way down hill now though. What else is there really to watch now? Good Luck CW!

This really should have been a two hour finale. The bases were covered, but it seemed very rushed. I would have liked a little flash forward at the end as well, to see where everyone was say, 6 months later. Most notably Lorelai and Luke, but the rest of the town and Rory as well. It would have been nice to have shown her after she'd been on the campaign trail for a while and gained the confidence she was looking for. And to see what happened with Zach's tour and Sookie's baby. And since Luke and Lorelai's summer trips with their respective daughters both fell through, I would have loved to see them take that boat trip that Luke had planned. Do some reconnecting.
Too bad. There was so much left to be said.

Thank you to the Palladino's for creating Gilmore Girls and the quirky town of Star's Hollow. Thank you to Lauren & Alexis for making us beleive that Lorelei & Rory are real people. Thank you to the entire cast & crew of this wonderful show for being a part of my life for the past seven years.
I loved the final episode. Before the episode aired, I was concerned that it wouldn't seem like an ending because they didn't know the show was not coming back next season. My concerns were put to rest. I feel like this episode allowed everyone to say goodbye; yet, we are also allowed to believe that Star's Hollow and our favorite Gilmores are still out there. Gilmore Girls continues in our hearts.

I am very upset that Gilmore Girls ended I have been watching this show since the very first episode. I know all good things must come to an end but a one hour episode with no flashbacks and a zillion commercials is very upsetting.
after all those years they end it like that I think they need to come back and end it properly because this is ridiciolous.

I cried sooo hard during this episode. When they started pulling away from the diner at the very end, I remembered how they did that at the end of the first episode, when Rory and Lorelai were talking about nothing and Luke was making their food. It is so sad to see this show go so soon. I wish we could have seen more of a definite future of Luke and Lorelai, but overall I was okay with the finale.

Very let down by this farwell show. My two daughters and I have watched this show together from the beginning and were very disappointed they didn't even get a 2 hour spot. Tuesday nite was reserved for years. This was a show that allowed people to relate instead of all the model and pussy cat hype which most people can't even relate to. There's nothing left on this channel. 95% of my tv viewing has been on this channel (WB to CW) with wonderful shows. Now youre taking off the last of them. Next it will be Smallville and One Tree Hill, then what's left to watch this channel for. You should have given GG a bigger Goodbye show for all your loyal watchers to this channel who date back to Felicity and Dawson Creek days. We are the ones that keep your channel going and we deserve better. Very let down, want more GG. Have them come back and say goodbye in style. They worked hard for 7 years lets give them a proper farwell.

I want more Gilmore....I'm not happy that it ended.

i thought that it was amazing! i cried throughout the whole thing. it was truley remarkable, every line of it. rory and lane saying goodbye, lorelai telling rory that its not time to get upset yet because then she'd just breakdown, and emily getting excited for friday night dinners made me cry hysterically. The ending was just like the ending of the first, and thats what made it such a great ending. ending it any other way would have been wrong. they needed an old "gilmore" moment for the series finale. Rory and Lorelai just rambling on and on, and luke watching. Gilmore Girls is the best show, and to me will always be. Gilmore Girls will very much be missed. Lauren Graham is my favorite actress, and she has been my role model, and Lorelai my favorite character. I am still terribly upset, and disapointed that it ended, but happy because of the way it ended. Gilmore Girls, you will be missed a tremendous amount. IM YOUR BIGGEST FAN !
R.I.P.
Gilmore Girls
7 seasons.

I laughed, I cried, it was like old times. If only GG had episodes like last night more often, maybe they'd still be on the air. As much as I complained about the show in the last few years...last night I was a sobbing mess at the thought of it actually being over. It's been the one show that I made a point to watch every week.
I feel like they need to have a GG special to really wrap things up - the Logan breakup was just too abrupt - you just don't blow someone off after 3 years together. I, like many fans, feel the need for more closure. I need more Stars Hollow characters... more Kirk... more Paris. Oh, I'm getting sad again. But maybe that made it a good finale - left people wanting more. Goodbye GG - it's been quite a ride.

I'm surprised so many people were disappointed by the finale. I thought it was a perfect way to say goodbye to the Gilmores and truly felt like a series finale. We got the chance to see everyone who was there during the pilot and it was very appropriate that the entire town was saying goodbye. Plus, I liked that we only got a hint of Luke and Lore. Enough to know that they have finally found their way back to each other. For me, this show has always been about Rory and Lore and their relationship so I appreciate that that is what the finale was focused on. For it to end as it began was pretty wonderful in my eyes.

The series finale was definitely a disappointment. Especially since it appears as if Lauren and Alexis really had no intention of continuing on for an eighth season, yet lead the network and their cast mates to believe it was a possibility. Had they been forthright, the writers would have been able to wrap up the story lines and the cast would have been able to attend the last cast party knowing that they would not be returning for another season and thefore given the opportunity to say their goodbyes. Lauren Graham commented in her t.v. guide interview that it would have been difficult for her to say goodbye to everyone at the cast party and that she requested modifications to the final episode. These comments suggest that she knew she would not return and points to the selfishness on her part to not give the other cast members, who had worked on the show from the beginning, the opportunity to say their goodbyes.

since Veronica Mars looks like it will be cancelled are you going to report on the episode last night? Last night was a good episode, one of the better ones this season and still all you have is the gilmore girls. I understand the allegiance to this show but some of us actually like VM as well.

The finale was very rushed and seemed to be just "thrown together." The characters seemed out of "character." It left much to be desired. I'm done with this channel...couldn't u have done something to save the show? I hated how it ended...Goodbye to great TV!!!:-(

The episode was great, but certainly not series finale material. There's so much more to see between Luke and Lorelai!
CW Please work things out with Lauren/Alexis - bring GG back for season 8!!!
This show needs a real ending that it deserves, and a season 8, even the half season you teased us with 2 weeks ago, would be able to work the storylines out to a real closure that we could feel comfortable with. And GG is the kind of show that deserves a "special 2 hour finale" when it goes off the air, not just a regular episode like this.
Fans were put in a very bad place when the Lorelai/Christopher thing happened - we deserve to see Lorelai happy with Luke!! Give us an 8th season to see that! She belongs married to Luke!

I thought that it left to much at the end hanging like:Lorelei and Lukes kiss, Logan and Rorys breakup.I relize that the show has been on the air for years but there could be so much more. Our whole family has watched the show since the begging and are really dissapointed that it is going off the air. We really enjoyed it and are sick of all the reality shows that are taking the place of all the good shows that have been taken off the air. We are dissappointed that it had to end and the hour that you showed wasnt enough and it ended really stupid. It left alot of things unsaid and alot of fellings were still in the air and we wanted to know what would happen between Luke and Lorelei. We wanted to know if they would get back together even though he has April now. If ended in a stupid way.
Posted by: Carly | May 16, 2007 11:54 AM
I think it was terrible, So much left unsaid, they could have done at least a flash to the future or something. I cried 3 time before the first half hour was over. The time Lorelei just sat on Rory's bed at watched her sleep, OMG It broke my heart. I will miss them so much.

I loved the final and I am glad Logan is out of it. But very sad to see the show end. it could have had another year with Luke, his daughter and of course Lorelei.
Posted by: Gerri | May 16, 2007 11:39 AM
I think the fans were screwed out of a wonderful ending. It was like watching a regular show not the very last one. Something that was just thrown together, a satisfing ending and closeure for the fans! I THINK NOT!
Posted by: lynn | May 16, 2007 11:22 AM
i loved it, and i'm so sad it's over. There are loose ends, but that show had everything fans love about GGs. Luke was amazing and jerky Logan was GONE :) yay!
A little Jess would have been nice. They did the very best they could to wrap up.

I haven't cried so hard since the series finale of Charmed. My boyfriend thought I was possessed from all the sobbing I did. I can't even think about it without crying. I agree it wasn't enough but I don't think it was their fault. They weren't given any warning that it was going to be the end. So sad... at least we have syndication.
Posted by: Lecita | May 16, 2007 11:19 AM
Great show. I will really miss this quality on TV. There are no good mother/ daughter shows.
Posted by: Anonymous | May 16, 2007 11:09 AM
I actually think this was a great way to wrap up the series -- Rory moving on to bigger and better things, everyone got a chance to say goodbye, Lorelei got validation for being a spectacular mom, and Richard completely broke my heart with his little speech. Oh, that just OWNED me! I don't know how they'd come back after that.
Posted by: jerslix | May 16, 2007 11:04 AM
Disppointing!!! I absolutely hated it...it wasn't worth watching. How can Rory not miss Logan afer all they've been through? At least have Logan come back and wait for her or move with her! (what a sad ending to a beautiful beginning)
