Supernatural Big Bad Bracket: Sweet Sixteen Round

Click for a closer lookAll right, folks, we’re heading for the Sweet Sixteen, Round Three of the Supernatural Big Bad Bracket. Here’s where the voting gets ugly, because we’ve got a bunch of favorites going up against each other. Vote now to help your preferred competitors advance to the next round!

The second part of Round Two had some seriously close matches. Salt barely managed to defeat Samuel Colt – dude should have remembered his heart medication. And we saw a couple of surprise upsets – the Djinn mind-whammied Secrets into submission and lives to fight on. Also, the Yellow-Eyed Demon proved that he has no respect for the “too pretty to die” school of thought – we wouldn’t be surprised if he’s got a bunch of pretty boys pinned in a case just like butterflies. What? Even demons need hobbies.

We were also thrilled to see that Bobby was able to overcome Possessed Sam yet again. We feared that Possessed Sam’s charm offensive would sway a number of voters, but it turns out the Trucker Cap beats evil charm any day. Go, Bobby!

The rest of the matches were more decisive. The Crossroads Demon, who apparently knows all about Dubious Mating Practices, reduced its opponent to a pile of component parts. Self-Esteem Issues easily defeated Destiny – apparently we’ve discovered which plot point your were more fond of. And Angst destroyed Poetic Justice just as handily as it flayed the souls of our favorite demon hunters this past season.

The most uneven match was Poor Giant Tiny vs. the fabulous Ellen Harvelle. Poor Poor Giant Tiny – he never stood a chance. Ellen took him out without blinking an eye. Now Poor Giant Tiny has even more self-esteem issues to work through.

This week will see some hard fought matches: Will The Demon Formerly Known as Meg be able to tame Dead Daddy Winchester, or did he work up a number of demon-defeating strategies while he was in hell? Can Bobby defeat the Yellow-Eyed Demon? (We have to admit, we sure hope so…) And which of the season’s overarching themes will advance to the next round: Angst or Self-Esteem Issues?

It’s going to be a nail-biting week, so get voting!
