Exclusive! Jared Padalecki on Friday the 13th, Sam vs. Dean, and the Ruby Situation
We caught up with Supernatural's Jared Padalecki on the red carpet as he was promoting his new flick, Friday the 13th. He tells us about the differences between Sam Winchester and his movie character, Clay Miller, and what it was like to fight Jason Voorhees. Then he gives us his reaction to a potential Sam vs. Dean smackdown, and tells us what he really thinks of fan reaction to the Sam-Ruby relationship. Check it out!

Yay! For an awesome performance at the box office for Friday the 13th! =D
Okay now that this is out of my system, I think we shouldn't panic just yet about the Sam/Ruby 'relationship' issue... First off, after seeing Sam having it on with a total stranger (who wasn't a siren), I think it's safe to say that the word 'relationship' was probably used in another sense... as in the way that they are currently working together to defeat Lilith, and not the BF/GF kind of relationship. Lots and lots of things are still a secret about those two, and I cannot wait to find out EVERYTHING!!!
Now... is there anyway we can get some sort of promo or something for the next episode!?! A month's WAAAAAY too long!! :(

Thank you for this wonderful interview with Jared, he looks so excited to be there and I hope that his movie does well at the box office. I will definitely be watching Friday the 13th when it opens out here in Australia on the 12th March.

I agree, I don't get why Jared feels that the Sam/Ruby plot is compelling in any way. I find thier "romance" (rolls eyes) to be sick and depraved, as well as lacking in chemistry, and not to mention just plain boring. Thier scenes drag the show down.
I guess that I'm just incapable of seeing just how romantic, awesome and entertaining necrophyllia (with a demon who cheered for your brother's entrance into hell) is supposed to be.
I plan on seeing Friday the 13th on Saturday. Based on the trailer alone, over half the characters already annoy me (not Jared/Clay though) therefore I will more than likely be rooting for Jason for much of the movie. Anyway I hope that the movie is a success for Jared and others.

HUGE NEWS:
JARED HAS A GIRLFRIEND NOW!
It's very important, tell your friends to tell their friends that Jared Padalecki has a girlfriend.
And don't forget that also Jensen has a girlfriend and the girlfriends are great friends.
And they all went to see MBV in Vancouver.
Jared, Jensen and the GIRLFRIENDS.
Pass this information to everyone, it's VERY IMPORTANT.
I wonder why Jared loves the Sam/Ruby epic romance....
And I wonder when exactly a cool show about the supernatural became a crappy soap.

Thank you for this interview! I am absolutely going to the theater to watch 'Friday the 13th' this weekend. (Even though I normally watch horror movies on DVD, for J & J I've actually been going to the theater to support their movies!!).
And thanks also for getting in some 'Supernatural' questions - I'm not surprised that he's looking forward to "Sam vs Dean" (gives them different stuff to do with each other - new challenges and I'm sure lots of fun), nor am I surprised that he loves it when the fans get .. umm .. really into (either for or against) .. storylines and character development. It shows that not only are people watching the show, but they are paying attention to the details and care about what happens (not just using the show to veg out in front of the TV).
So long as we continue to remember that it IS "just" a TV show .. and J & J are only responsible for bringing the characters to life (not the planning or the writing, or anything else). ;-)
