90210 Recap: Okaeri, Donna!
OMG you guys, we are so parched from watching 90210 last night -- you know what would be really refreshing? A nice cold Diet Dr. Pepper. It must be because the episode was so dry compared to the mental breakdown we had last week.
It's spring break and everyone seems to be going in different directions. Silver is under Kelly's lock and key since being diagnosed with bi-polar disorder, Dixon convinces Annie to take a brother-sister road trip, and Mr. Matthews takes Ethan, Naomi and Liam to do "volunteer" work for Habitat for Humanity. Adrianna and Navid were sorely missed this episode but have no fear, Donna Martin is back in town! Unfortunately, her performance and storyline didn't speak as loudly as the Dr. Pepper cameos.
Anywho, Donna Martin is visiting from Japan and apparently not all is well with her and David -- they've separated (dun dun dun). In good news, her fashion line is going over really well and while she's out having sushi with Kelly her outfit gets noticed by Diablo Cody (if you don't know who she is, you obviously weren't watching the show). Diablo was so struck by Donna's outfit that she commissioned a dress from her to wear to a red carpet event the following night. She took Donna's number with the famed hamburger phone -- which is now conveniently a cell phone (Hollywood magic).
Dixon tricks Annie into driving to Arizona for spring break by telling her there were big water parks for them to explore. He really has other things in mind -- well a person really. Ever since this whole craziness with Silver happened, Dixon has been feeling upset about abandoning his mom all those years back. He didn't realize at the time (he was 8) that his mom has a disease, so he told the social worker he wanted to be put up for adoption. This has been eating away at him ever since and now he feels like he needs to apologize. Of course, Annie turns into Judge Judy and is upset that Dixon didn't just tell her or their parents of his plans. Still, she went with him to talk to his mom and ended up speaking to her for him since he wasn't ready. Next!
Ever since the car accident Ethan has been pretty lame. We're not upset he broke up with Annie but now all he can talk about is wanting something different or new with his life. Well go get it honey! So he expects some kind of inner wisdom to find him while building houses for Habitat for Humanity. Naomi is there strictly to flirt with Liam and Liam is there to fulfill some kind of punishment requirement. Ethan is a snooze-fest this episode except for when Liam pretends to have given him some peyote and then he just states the obvious, he's sick of putting up a front and making people believe everything is ok when it really isn't. The two boys fight, then they develop a bromance, it's all very sweet. We have no clue what Liam is all about -- but he is sure nice to look at so we'll give him the benefit of the doubt.
Not a whole lot happened this episode, but we suppose we needed to wind down from last week's. What did you think? Are they making Ethan more boring so we won't miss him as much next season? What do you think is up with Liam?
