Supernatural Sneak Peak: Jump the Shark

Supernatural finally returns next week, with an episode that is sure to cause discussion -- if not outright dissension -- among the fans. The Brothers Winchester discover they may need to make room in the Metallicar for another passenger -- John Winchester's son.

We've got some clips for the ep, and we want your opinions. First, see Sam and Dean prepare to meet this new guy, and what their reactions are:

Next, the boys meet their long-lost brother -- and learn a little bit about the life he had:

What do you think? Are you intrigued, enraged, heartbroken or bored? And did you notice the name of the diner in the first clip? Talk about it in the comments!

This is a trap! I don't really like this plot. Sam and Dean are the only Winchesters. I am not a fan of a third brother. I mean I am gonna watch it but not like before

Hi, An. We'll start podcasting season 2 in the summer, after regular episodes of all the CW shows end. Unfortunately, it's difficult to fit it in during the regular season when we've got some much else going on.

supernaturallover101 -- We post sneak peaks as soon as we get them from our friends at the show (Thanks, Holly!) and the network (Thanks, Suzanne!). I'm glad you like them!

i loved this episode!!! when will you post a sneakpeek for the next one???

Like your site! Can't wait for tonight's episode. 5 minutes and counting. Our site does Supernatural recaps if anybody wants to chat with us there about the show. I think the new brother will be helping Dean fight Sam next season- after Sam turns EEEEEVIL

I think this whole story line is a bad idea. How bad would it suck if John was father of the year to some other kid when Sam and Dean had to grow up the way they did? Supernatural has been one of my favorite shows since the very begining, but I don't think that I would watch it anymore if this storyline goes in that direction. It really would ruin the whole dynamic of the show.

The only way I could find this scenerio ok is if the kid is really John's (after all even Sam has sex with random women it would be hypercritical to disapprove). He then goes on to hero worships Dean in just the way he would want Sam to do.

Then he is killed - possibly by the angels - (like all the other members of their family) to stop Dean getting emotionally involved with him.

There is not much more pschyological damage that could be inficted on Dean by John is there?

OK, I think I jumped the gun because I read this just after seeing the SPACE promo and was kinda pissed at how it was looking. Went back and looked at ALL the spoilers to date on this episode, in addition to a mention that there will be a wink-wink nudge-nudge shout-out to Kim Manners during this episode. And after reviewing all that, I am more at ease. Any episode that has a wink-nudge to Manners would certainly not do that which is truly considered shark-jumping within a TV show.

Therefore, BRING IT ON!! :))) (but I'm going out to buy some tar & feathers, just in case **wink**)

I am looking forward to this episode, just as I have been for EVERY episode from this season! This season has been an amazing ride! I have a hard time believing that this episode will be any different. Watching the clip of Dean and Sam interacting with Adam is a heartbreaking scene!
I think sometimes the fans get their "panties in a bunch" a bit to easily... I prefer to watch the episode and see how it plays out before getting all riled!
New brother or not, I am willing to watch the episode and the season in general play out the way the writers, producers, actors, etc want to tell it. As I said, it has been great so far!

Yup, the diner's name is Cousin Oliver's... as in the Cousin Oliver that was added to the Brady Bunch as the prerequisite "young, cute kid" once the youngest ones had grown up. One of the surest signs of "jumping the shark" on a TV show when it's in a state of decline and they've run out of ideas... weddings, babies, and long-lost relatives suddenly showing up.

I've been looking forward with great anticipation to all episodes this season... except THIS one. If Scrappy Doo here is really another Winchester, then may this Thursday never come! Even if The Kid ends up dying, if he's really a Winchester then they will have forever ruined John and turned him into the a-hole that half the fandom thinks he is. The rest of us who have been supporting John by saying "he did the best he could for his boys under the circumstances" will have nothing to stand on if John took time to be a normal father to Scrappy while further neglecting his children that were left without a mother and a demon on their tail.

I think I'm going to boycott this episode just on principle alone, and watch it online only after I get confirmation that Scrappy is just some demon trick. I'd hate to think that this unique, clever and inventive show stooped so low as the cliche long lost "brother".

I'm really looking forward to this episode. Dean just looks so hurt. I think this is either a trap or if it is real, I worry because I know they won't be adding a 3rd brother to the series, so I'm thinking maybe Adam isn't long for this world..... Either way, I'm REALLY excited...I'm just glad we're getting new episodes!!!

I do think the writers have lost their mind with bringing in another Winchester son. They got it right with the title; they are jumping the shark with brining in the third son.

To me, this does raise some questions like why John got so PO'ed at Sam for wanting to go to Standford when he turned 18 and why they are bringing him in now of all times.

OMG ... i can't wait!

I am with Dean. This is a trap! I don't really like this plot. Sam and Dean are the only Winchesters. I am not a fan of a third brother. I mean I am gonna watch it but not like before.

Hello ladies! I was wondering when you ladies will start podcasting Supernatural again? An answer will be great.

Can't wait for the new episode. Definitely a major twist for there to be another Winchester brother, but entirely probable, since John was gone a lot and on the road. I think it's a great plot to follow and show some of Sam and Dean's feelings about their father and their inevitable jealousy over him never doing "normal" father-son things with them like baseball games. On the other hand, I thought it was heartbreaking that Dean realizes this and is not only jealous, he's sad. Can't wait to see the whole episode and see how it all plays out!
