Supernatural Casting News: Demons Galore!
We're getting more and more excited for the return of Supernatural (71 days and counting...) as we learn more about who we'll be seeing in the new season. One bit of news pertains to a character we knew we'd be seeing. The other is about a character we weren't expecting to see again -- and who will be returning in a different form.
We all know we're going to be meeting the ultimate Big Bad this season when Lucifer makes his appearance. Now we know what appears Lucifer is going to have. According to Michael Ausiello, he'll be played by Mark Pellegrino, late of Lost, Dexter and The Unit. That's him to the right. What do you think -- does he look like your idea of the Prince of Darkness? We think he'll do nicely... although we are slightly disappointed that Kripke didn't take our casting suggestion.
The other demon on our collective radar? Well, to protect that spoilerphobes, we'll talk about that after the jump.
The good news: Meg will be back! The demon who plagued the Winchester boys for several seasons is coming back, and we're guessing she is NOT a happy bunny. We can't wait to see them interact again!
But there's a catch. Nicki Aycox has another gig -- she's appearing in TNT's Dark Blue -- so the Meg we see won't be the Meg we remember. She'll have another meat suit, which will be provided by actress Rachel Miner. So far, she's only in for one episode, but who knows.
We're torn on this -- we adore Meg, but that's at least in part because Nicki made her so deliciously, awesomely evil. Will Meg's words be the same coming out of another actress' mouth? Will Rachel be able to pull it of? And how do you feel about another actress taking the role? We know you have an opinion -- talk!

I'm not sure about the whole Lucifer thing...but I haven't seen the actor in action, so hopefully he will do a good job, they usually(yes most of the time)pick great actors for the show....But I have to admit I was hoping for a woman Lucifer, I think that would have kicked butt....I did love Meg, sorry to see the other actress go but just the same as with Ruby hopefully she will be able to fill Megs shoes.....the interplay between Meg and Sam should be interesting though....could be good.

I don't really know the actress whom is going to play Meg but I'm sure she will do a great job. I'm not at all sad that the original actress who played Meg isn't coming back, I mean her character did die after they exorcised her (and don't forget Meg came back for a bit and possessed poor Sammy because she didn't have a body). I'm really excited to see the 5th and FINALE season of Supernatural. It's gunna be sad when it ends, but with all good stories there comes an ending and I cant wait to see the ending!

i like them, i am sure they are gonna be great, ive seen pellegrino, and he did a great job in lost. Besides not everything is about looks. We should be more tolerant; there are people saying that supernatural, its messages and its fandom are almost fascist.

WOW!. Mark Pellegrino as Lucifer is going to be perfect. He has a look terrifying. So, I think there is no one more capable to play this part than him.

I'm just so happy that they're bringing the character MEG back. It's cool that she'll be played by a new actress. Don't get me wrong, Nicki Aycox was awesome but after Meg was exorcised from the body well let's just say that Nicki Aycox's character is nothing but rotting flesh. It wouldn't have been possible. Now Lucifer ... that was an amazing pick. I can't wait for the new season to begin!

I like this actress a lot. I think Rachel Miner has a certain je nes sais quoi that allows her to play offbeat characters really well. However, I wonder if it's going to be an issue that she's already appeared in two episodes. One was "The Monster at the End of This Book" and the other was playing the widow of one the victims in an earlier season. Whatever they do, I'm sure it will be pretty fantastic.

ha! just read the comment by 'juice'...for CMM to b lucifer (LOL). nah, im not happy. as if they cant just think of new ppl/demons 4 the show, they keep addin the same demons by diff actors, this will become a Guiness World Record sorta thing! i mean they changed Ruby, and i could do without her.
just my thought, this will end up being the same situation.
