The CW is overrun with people so delectably EEEEEEEEEEEEEEVIL that we can't help but adore them for their very nastiness. And that's what this Sourcie, the "I Love To Hate You Award," celebrates. The nominees are:

 Dan ScottOne Tree Hill Granted, Dan has been much less eeeeeeeevil in recent seasons -- it's been ages since he, say, shot his brother, drove his wife to drugs or tormented the ones he (theoretically) loved. But the residual badness in Dan's bones makes us love to hate him so very much. That's one of the reasons we loved the Film Noir episode -- it gave Dana chance to be the unrepentant villain we all most he wants to be. Bliss! |
 The DevilReaper In this case, the paradigm has changed a bit. Here's someone we hate to admit we absolutely love. He's the Devil! Evil Incarnate! Source of human misery! All-around bad dude! But... he's so charming! And funny! And he looks so darn dapper in those suits! And he's RAY WISE! How can you not love this guy? And then he breaks out the demons and the soul crushing and the tormenting Sam and the stealing Andi's soul and all the rest, and you remember -- he's the Devil! Arghhh! |

 Lily van der Woodsen BassGossip Girl Ah, Lily, the most frustrating parent on the face of the planet. She's the queen of dubious decision-making, and she's always willing to blame Serena for things she's done herself. She manages to make it All! About! Lily! all the time, whether she's attending a friend's seder (not the time for unannounced guests, Lily!), smooching her lover in public while her hubby's body is hardly cold, or having Serena thrown in jail (!!!) for something she didn't do. Boo! Hiss! |
 Naomi Clark90210 Naomi isn't really eeeeeevil, per se -- but she's still plenty of fun to hate. She's just so deliciously bitchy! Whether she's ostracizing Annie for something she did or didn't do, plagiarizing others' work to get ahead in school, or establishing herself as the Queen Bee of West Bev with a cutting remark or underhanded act, we love watching her every move. In fact, we love her so much more when she's at one with her mean girl nature. Come on, Naomi -- embrace the Dark Side! |

 Ruby Supernatural Ruby led Sam -- and us -- on a wild ride this season. She almost -- almost! -- made us beleive that she was working on the side of good -- until the very last moment of hte last episode. She led Sam into killing Lilith to set Lucifer free -- and then rubbed salt in his wounds by telling him that he made all those choices by himself. That's why it was so satisfying to see her gut-stabbed in the final episode. Rest in Torment, Ruby! |

Okay, so I'm a HUGE Supernatural fan and I'm glad to see that it's winning quite a few categories here but this is just stupid. All it takes is one look on a SPN forum to see that nobody loves to hate Ruby, they just hate her.
This is totally a case of voting for the sake of voting. As evil as Dan is, it's hard to imagine One Tree Hill without him...THAT is someone you love to hate.
Now if Meg is nominated next year she's totally getting my vote.

I don't love to hate Dan or Ruby. I just hate hate them.
I don't hate Lily or Naomi and I've never watched Reaper.

I actually really liked ruby when i thought she was helping sam but now i absolutely hate her. i never loved to hate her, i either loved her or i hated her. so my vote goed to dan. he so twisted and manioulative but at the same time incredibly amusing and entertaining that you cant help but love to hate him!

There is no love involved in my hate for Ruby. So I pick Dan. At least he is a decently written character played by a good actor. Not an annoyingly inconsistent character played by a crappy actress like Ruby.

Ruby won this for me. Although Dan is usually lovably detestable, he's changed a lot in the last two seasons. So I'm gonna have to go with Ruby.

Voted for Naomi because, well I actually like Dan, he's not thaat bad. Devil and Lily are kinda nothing. And while I don't watch Supernatural, I kinda like Ruby.
That leaves Naomi, who I do like but she can be a bit of a b*tch

I do love Dan Scott. He amuses me, as much as I wanna smack him around sometimes. He adds a nice element to the show. Well, he did... in the high school years. I miss those. But in the last two seasons, everybody's animosity towards him got pretty old. And I absolutely LOVED that one episode towards the end of season 6 when Dan completely bitched Deb out! That was frickin' awesome.
But damn... RUBY! That little bitch! I could strangle her! But I love her character. To be honest, I'm gonna miss her next season. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad she's dead as a doornail, but she added something great to the story-line; made people wonder if demons really could have some good in them. And even though she was doing all of this to manipulate Sam into freeing Lucifer, sometimes I wonder if she didn't have some sort of genuine affection for Sam. Sure, she's a demon and all, but... who else did she have? She didn't have any demonic friends or allies. She had Sam, though. I don't know... I might be completely wrong with that, but I guess I'd like to believe that she felt something towards him besides a means to her own end.
But still. I wish I could kill her myself, sometimes. That snide little, "You didn't need the feather to fly; you had it in you the whole time, Dumbo" had me bouncing off the walls in fury. For two seasons, I'd been a fan of hers! Well, kinda sorta by the end of season 4 because, after all, it was HER blood Sam was sucking on! But then she goes and rips the floor out from under all of us Supernaturalites! The end of this last season was painful on so many levels. It's probably a good thing the season ended there and gave us this hiatus - I needed a chance to recover!

My love of hating Ruby is extreme! In the "I KNEW SHE WAS BAD NEWS ALL ALONG" kind of hating Ruby. Don't get me wrong .. I do enjoy having characters on shows that are SOO hateable. In fact, we need them - especially on a show like Supernatural.
