90210: Sexts and Consequences
What we loved
Jen
And by love, we mean hate, but in the most deliciously fabulous way. She manipulates everyone -- Naomi, Liam, even Mr. Matthews and her rich date -- and gets her way. By the end of the ep, she gets Naomi to ignore her doubts by comparing her to their mother, admits she's sexing up Ryan so her real targets -- rich men -- don't think she's just a gold digger, and threatens Liam with juvie. She's a grade-A beeyotch, and we wouldn't have it any other way.
Friendships
The girls are still supporting each other -- Naomi scoops up Silver when she's devastated by Dixon ignoring her, Ade and Silver run interference with Liam to save Naomi, and Silver actually tries to comfort Annie after the sex pic gets out. (Of course, Annie doesn't react well... but we'll get to that later.) We're also seeing the boys bonding -- Teddy, Liam and Dixon all make the surf team, and Dixon and Liam bond over their New York roots. Dixon and Navid try to counsel Liam on his Naomi problem. And Teddy doesn't rip off Navid's head, which we're assuming he's doing in deference to Ade's feelings.

Downward spirals
Oh, Annie. Things are just getting worse and worse for you? After Naomi sends out the naked pic, Annie retreats to the Blaze News office -- where Teddy's interview footage is inexplicably running. And Teddy is talking about the last bad thing that happened to him -- i.e., that he found the victim of a hit-and-run in June. Doh! Annie is so screwed!
Dixon coming around
All through the ep, Dixon was trying to remove himself from Annie's sphere of influence. She's got nothing to do with me! Not my problem! I don't care! But when the sext gets out, he's willing to defend her honor by punching out Mucky Mark. A little late, and it would probably be better if you, you know, actually talked to your adoptive sister, but hey, it's a start.
What we didn't love
Bratty Behavior We know Dixon was frustrated with Annie, but come on, the sext thing was a big deal that he should have talked to her about as soon as he heard about it. Likewise, Annie -- Silver is your friend. Silver is actually standing up for you and trying to support you. Silver is just surprised that a friend has done something she can't believe. There's not reason to stomp off in a huff. Sigh.
Stupidity
Navid -- we know you're insecure about Teddy. But let's face it, the interview/ambush was just obnoxious. That wasn't half as bad as you telling Adrianna that the solution is for her to not talk to Teddy -- although he would graciously allow her to say "Hey" in the halls. Dude! Rookie mistake!
Obliviousness
Ryan, you're supposed to be smart. So why can't you pick up on the fact that Jen is eeeeeevil, and that she's using you? Snap out of it!
Bad stepdads
Call it the anti-Kent -- Jonathan Schneider returns to the CW as a stepfather who definitely would not be inspiring Superman. He's a bit of a schmuck to Liam, to the gardener, to Liam's mom... and maybe we're reading too much into things, but were we alone in sniffing out a potential spousal/child abuse scenario coming down the pike? We're watching you, Jonathan -- and you better not muss a hair on Liam's pretty, pretty head!

You talked about the Navid sex jam cd (that name is wrong in so many ways!!) and that Color Me Badd and Sisqo would be on the playlist. I thought about which songs would also be on the cd and made a little playlist.

This season is awesome. It's like a whole new show -- the energy is contagious. And I'm loving every minute of it.
My thoughts:
*Ooh, when Naomi finds out what really happened with Jen and Liam, the claws are going to come out! And Annie'll have every right to ruin Naomi's rep. I can't wait to see how it all unfolds.
*Silver needs a new man, I think. Or at the very least, to spend some time by herself. This pining-after-Dixon thing isn't going anywhere.
*I continue to love Adrianna. I like Navid, but he needs to grow up or he's going to lose her. They might actually benefit from some time apart... as long as they get back together, of course.
*Liam is so hot. Drool.

I'm livng the show this season! Agree with what you said, especially about the friendship!
Jen...ugh! She better not get in the way of Naomi and Liam!!

I still feel very disturbed about this character Teddy. The actor was not the best choice. About the episode I think it was great. There is no doubt the show is much better this season. I hope many friendships, evilness, threatens, stupidities come every single episode.
