America's Next Top Model: Tyra on the Strongest Season Yet

Tyra Banks so so excited about the upcoming season of America's Next Top Model -- and she told us why! We caught up with the model/media mogul to find out about the challenges of having shorter girls on the show (it's not what you think!), what guest judges we can expect, and why she's thrilled that her daytime show is now on The CW too!

Does this get you excited for the new season? Talk about it in the comments!

America's Next Top Model: Guest Judges Galore!

We're never surprised to see big name celebs pop up on America's Next Top Model from time-to-time. But even we were shocked to read that reality TV fixture Kim Kardashian will be appearing as a guest judge during upcoming Cycle 13, which has already begun shooting!

Kim recently blogged about her time shooting with the folks at ANTM. She's a big fan of Tyra's (who isn't?) and long-time fan of the show, so we're willing to believe her when she says that Cycle 13 is definitely the best so far. Truth be told, we were a little nervous when we found out about Paulina's departure, but it looks like the producers really know what they're doing.

Kardashian, who as been linked to NFL running back Reggie Bush and "Entourage" hottness Adrian Grenier, can be seen acting like herself on her reality show "Keeping Up with the Kardashians."

What do you think about Kim joining the show as a guest judge? Tell us in the comments!

Mark Your Calendars: The CW Premiere Dates Are Here!

So many cliffhangers rounded out this past season: What is Dan and Serena's half brother up to? What -- or who -- did Annie hit? How the heck are Sam and Dean going to defeat Lucifer? Why did the-man-who-will-be-Super say "Clark Kent is dead?" And that's just the start of it! Well, now we know when we can expect answers: The CW has announced its fall premiere dates. Start counting the days now!

It all starts on Tuesday, Sept. 8 with the season premiere of 90210 and the series premiere of Melrose Place. Wednesday, Sept. 9 brings the two-hour season premiere of America's Next Top Model: Shorty Edition. Oh, the drama! We can't wait.

Winchesterites, you can breath again on Sept. 10. That's when Supernatural returns to the small screen, and when we start to figure out how (or if!) the boys can avert Armageddon. But before we get to them, we get introduced to Damon, Stefan and Elena as The Vampire Diaries makes its debut. Should be a spooky and satisfying night!

The Monday-night lineup returns on Sept. 14, with one slight change: One Tree Hill and Gossip Girl are changing places. Now OTH gets the first spot, and GG rounds out the night. The Beautiful Life makes its debut on Wednesday, Sept. 16, after ANTM.

Finally, Smallville swoops back onto our screens on Friday, Sept. 25. Why the wait? Your guess is as good as ours.

Get the schedule in an easy-to-digest form after the break.

America's Next Top Model: A Star is Born -- Almost!

One of our favorite contestants on America's Next Top Model Cycle 12 was Tahlia Brookins. She was gorgeous, she was sweet as could be, and she was there, giving it her all, despite the fact that she was a burn victim and had scarring over a good part of her lower body.

Because of her scarring doctors have always told Tahlia that she would never be able to conceive, but the aspiring model recently appeared on the Tyra Banks Show to give her mentor the big news -- she's going to be a mom!

Tahlia and the baby daddy broke up after she was eliminated from the show, but with the happy news come a reuniting of the couple. We're sending out a big virtual "Good Luck Shout-Out" to those crazy kids.

But Tyra did more than just wish them luck -- she gave them stuff! Tahlia scored herself a stroller, onsies and baby blankets for her tyke. We're expecting an invite to the shower any day now. Hey Tahlia -- call us if you need a babysitter!

We asked for help, and boy, did you deliver! We got a ton of great category suggestions for The Sourcies 2009 -- almost 70 altogether! We wish we could use them all, but alas, we needed to winnow it down a bit. Some categories (best line, for example) gave us too much choice, while others (like best air guitar) gave us too little. It's Sourcies Season, and We Need Your Help!

That's right, folks, it's time for the fabulous CW Sourcies! You know the drill: We pit scenes and moments from various shows against each other and let you vote to see what comes out on top! And we want your help!

We're compiling the categories for this year's competition, but it occurred to us that hey, why should we have all the fun? So we want your input: What categories do you want to see your fave shows compete in this year? Are you looking for perennial favorites, like best fight, best kiss, best villain? Or do you have something more out-there in mind?

So here's our challenge to you: Use the comments to tell us what categories you want to vote in this year. If you see something you think is brilliant, second that emotion. We'll pick the categories that you love, that tickle our fancy, and that will make the Sourcies better than ever this year. Get commenting! We can't wait to see what you come up with!

Note: Wow! You guys rock! We've picked out categories for this year, so the comments are now closed. Now go nominate your favorites!

America's Next Top Model: We Love Nigel More with Each Passing Day

America's Next Top Model judge is not only talented and gorgeous...he’s also a giver! Nigel Barker is committed to putting an end to the cruelty of seal hunting, and has teamed up with Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) on a project called ProtectSeals and has an upcoming exhibit to showcase their passion.

According to Buddy TV, other celebs have hopped on the bandwagon and joined the cause, including Carmen Electra, a Kardashian and The C-Dub's own Conor Paulo. Nigel said of the project, "I believe we owe it to ourselves and to the next generation to do all we can to protect, preserve and respect our planet. No one nation, state nor individual should have the right to brutalize the fauna or exploit the flora. Of course, most countries are guilty of such indiscretions but as individuals we have the power to stand up and do the right thing."

We’re all about not exploiting flora or fauna!

If you find yourself in the NYC area this week, check out Nigel's exhibit that is being hosted by the United Nations Environment Programme. It's called "Shared Destiny: Wildlife from Africa to the Arctic" and the photography looks incredible. If you think the man can capture models, just see what he does for nature! Nigel is obviously very passionate about the cause and blogs about it on his Web site.

The exhibit kicks off on June 4 and runs through the 12th.

America's Next Top Model: Cycle 13, Coming Soon to a TV Near You!

We're still reeling over the Cycle 12 finale when Teyona was crowned America's Next Top Model. The edgy beauty beat out Aminat, the outspoken stunner from Jersey and then Allison, the shy, different looking girl from New Orleans. They were all beautiful but Teyona could take an awesome photo, consistently, and that’s what it came down to in the very end.

Cycle 12 was serious business but we had some fun along the way!

So now we look forward to lucky Cycle 13. We're all excited about the twist in the next cycle because the models will all have to be 5'7" or shorter. Heck, they'll be more like us! Many agencies, including Wilhelmina, have a "Petite Division" that specialize in "beauty models" (as apposed to the ugly ones, we're guessing).

Actually, beauty models are all about the face, and that's where some of the biggest paychecks in the industry go. Perfume, skincare and the like are all about the face. So height doesn't really matter. Plus, some of the biggest supermodels of all time are shorties: Twiggy is only 5'5" and Kate Moss is only slightly over 5'6". Wilhelmina also has a women over 24 division (Hello, Celia!) and we'd LOVE to see that explored in a cycle down the road.

Teyona took the ANTM crown officially but it was clear that other contestants showed a lot of talent. Which "loser" do you see pulling off a Clay Aiken and rockin' a stellar career even though she didn’t win?

CW Fall Schedule Announced!

Vamps and models and Melrosites are flooding The CW's fall schedule -- and we can't wait! The network announced its 2009-2010 schedule today, and we had a few surprises. Yes, we knew about Melrose Place, but The Beautiful Life took us by surprise. A couple of shows we thought were a lock didn't end up on the schedule at all, and a few more shows we hoped would return have been dropped. But the biggest -- and most welcome -- surprise? All of the new shows on the sched look likely to rock!

The three new shows we can look forward to in the fall are Melrose Place, The Beautiful Life and The Vampire Diaries. We got a chance to talk to cast members from all three new shows, and we'll have an in-depth look at the series later. For now, here's a quick look, plus our impressions:

Melrose Place is taking the post-90210 spot on Tuesday nights. You know the drill: A bunch of glamorous 20-somethings share their lives and loves in a faboo apartment complex off LA's storied Melrose Ave. In the original incarnation, the show started off almost a little slow, then embraced its soapy elements a season or two in. This version seems to intend to go over the top from the get-go -- and that has us salivating.
Our Take: We can't wait to see Katie Cassidy as an acid-tongued, bisexual publicist; Ashlee Simpson as a sweet, naive small-town girl who's willing to scheme to get what she wants; and Shaun Sipos as the troublemaking spawn of original Melrose resident Michael Mancini. Plus, Sydney is back from the dead -- and how are they going ot pull that off? We can't wait to find out!

Find out about The Beautiful Life and The Vampire Diaries after the jump!

America's Next Top Model: It's Crunch Time -- Let's Nitpick!

ANTM Final Three -- Aminat, Allison and Teyona
Looking for a little distraction while you anxiously wait for the finale of America's Next Top Model? So are we. It’s been a long, difficult week, but we are excited about the three lovely finalists and think it's anyone’s game at this point.

Each model has some positive points as well as some shortcomings (we'll break it all down for you soon enough). But one thing that each contestant has in common is the dreaded judges. If they can't win over the judges, they might as well pack up the bikinis and tube tops right now.

America's Next Top Model: It's a Jungle Out There

Allison as baby bird
It's time to samba on America's Next Top Model and unfortunately, a few of the final four femme fatales have two left feet.

The four are taken to a dance studio where they meet Paulina. She explains that a good samba dancer has poise and coordination, and so should a model. You have to move your body and make it look easy. They have a quick lesson and are told to practice. Then it’s challenge time and they get all prettied up and meet their partner, the smokin' hot Eduardo.

Paulina tells Celia that she wants "it" too badly and tells her to relax. Oh yeah, and desperation is not sexy. Well, after that Come-to-Jesus talk Celia enjoys herself -- or at least pretends to. It's all about faking it with confidence. Paulina thinks that Aminat is a natural dancer and we agree -- she looks really natural and always seems to be having fun. Paulina is just plain scared for Allison who she thinks looks like a little tin wind-up doll when she’s trying to dance. Then poor Teyona is just so awkward with Eduardo. Even her buddy Aminat claimed that she "…didn’t handle her business out there."

The challenge winner and one other girl (her choice) get Ara Vartanian jewelry worth over $7,000! The newly relaxed Celia grabs the challenge win and chooses her pal Allison to go with her. But Aminat is cranky because she did really well, certainly better than Allison! Nevertheless, Celia and Allison are whisked off to meet Ara himself and they get to "shop."

America's Next Top Model: Short People Got No Reason

It’s Sao Paulo Fashion Week on America's Next Top Model and things are really heating up. Paulo Borges, the director of Fashion Week, greets the girls. Their challenge of the week is to emulate real working models for the day and meet with five designers for Go-Sees. They want the girls to exude "Style," "Personality" and "Soul." The models can go in any order but must return by 3:30 sharp.

America's Next Top Model: Who's in Trouble Now?

We're down to five hopefuls on America's Next Top Model -- and not everyone is impressing the judges. Check out this preview to see who looks like they're in trouble this week:

But the fun doesn't stop there. Another girl gets put under the microscope -- and Nigel pays the price!

What do you think? Are you looking forward to the episode? Talk!

America's Next Top Model: Natalie Speaks!

Last night saw the ouster of Natalie from America's Next Top Model. We caught up with Natalie and talked to her about her last photoshoot, what she really thought of Brazil, why she got eliminated, and where she's going with her modeling career. Check it out!

America’s Next Top Model: Why Are These People in Brazil While We're Stuck At Home?

The final six competitors in the running to become America's Next Top Model arrive in Sao Paulo, Brazil. They’re greeted by Fernanda Motta, the host of Brazil’s Next Top Model and it's straight into a challenge. The models must find the "Girl from Ipanema," but first the must find her favorite flower -- Birds of Paradise -- and get to the Botanical Gardens to present them to her. It’s so very "The Amazing Race." They’re running, scheming, plotting, we love it!

America's Next Top Model: Some Weighty Issues Arise

After panel last week on America's Next Top Model, just about every model is feeling a little threatened. Allison has got to figure out a new look ASAP, Aminat needs to learn how to speak, and London must figure out how to hide the poundage she's gained.

America's Next Top Model: Tahlia Speaks!

Poor Tahlia endured on one heck of an emotional roller coaster on America's Next Top Model, didn't she? We talked to the newly eliminated model about what it was like struggling with her confidence levels, what she really felt like doing when Celia told Tyra about her misgivings, how she deals with being told she's "not telegenic," and why the first catwalk knocked her back:

Then, Tahlia told us about her favorite shoot, who pledged to "out-model" her, why the acting challenge was so tough for her, why Clay Aiken rocks, and what she hopes to do from now on. Check it out!

America’s Next Top Model: Behind the Scenes Nastiness!

This week we're treated to not one but two hours of America's Next Top Model. First there was an elimination episode, but we’ll get to that later because we really enjoyed the "never before seen footage" episode. It's always a good time, but it was incredible to see all of the girls back in the beginning, in Vegas, with their old hair and looks. They don't even look like the same people now! London looked like a total hippie and Allison looked like a little girl…well, she still looks like one but now she looks like a little girl with long, blonde hair.

We were reminded of how happy we are that Angelea and her fingernails didn't ever get into the house and how pleased we are that Sandra is now gone. Though we were surprised that when she was ousted, Sandra regretted being so competitive and wished she would have made nice with the girls.

We caught a lot of the stuff that we figured was going on but never actually saw. And we were a little freaked out at the nastiness. Who knew pretty people could be so messy? They've trashed the apartment. Hair and old food everywhere. Gag!

America's Next Top Model: Ding, Dong, the Witch is Gone!

After the drama at panel on America's Next Top Model last week, Tahlia is, understandably, feeling a little like road kill. She claims that Celia “threw her under the bus."

But things get even nastier when the girls return to the house and start taking sides. Aminat and Teyona get crazy and mean. At first they appear to be defending Tahlia, but after it goes on, and on, and on, it seems like they just enjoy being bullies. Aminat even gets in Natalie's face and there's nothing pretty about any of it. Clearly these girls haven't heard of “inner beauty."

Luckily, Tahlia and Celia were adult enough to talk out their differences later. But we're not going to lie, we're hoping this isn't the end of the catwalk cattiness.

America's Next Top Model: Natalie Speaks!

The competition is heating up on America's Next Top Model, and Natalie is right in the thick of it! We caught up with the runway-challenge winner and asked her about dealing with harsh judges, who she liked (and didn't!) in the house, why she freaked out at the makeover, and who is "the sweetest guy ever." Check it out!
