Lauren Graham to Star in New 'Genius' Drama

Lauren GrahamLauren Graham's everywhere this morning! We just heard that Lauren Graham's signed on to star in "Flash of Genius," a drama with Greg Kinnear ("As Good as It Gets," "Little Miss Sunshine"). He'll play the inventor of windshield wipers; she'll play his long suffering wife. It's hard to imagine Lauren in a more serious role, but we'll definitely be checking it out! Will you?

Want more Lauren? She's starring in this summer's "Evan Almighty" alongside the always hilarious Steve Carell. Plus, she just earned raves from the usually critical Fug Girls on Glamour's fashion blog for her lovely summer ensemble.

That Lauren -- she has beauty, brains, AND good fashion sense. Can she do no wrong?

Lauren Graham to TV Guide: "Both Alexis And I Felt Tired"

Lauren GrahamTV Guide's Ausiello got the scoop from Lauren Graham herself about the Gilmore finale and why there won't be another season. As usual, LG is candid and honest, and we appreciated hearing her take on this, but it doesn't ease the pain of knowing that one of our favorite shows is on its way out.

But enough doom and gloom. We always try to find something positive in bad news. So how about this? We liked hearing that Lauren requested some changes to the finale -- changes that sound like good ones to us: "I thought this should be an opportunity to say good-bye, or at least have some sort of acknowledgement of all these characters... I felt it was important to go a little deeper."

Read the interview and tell us what you think of Lauren's comments.

It's a CW Mash-up: Because I Said So

What is it about the upcoming flick "Because I Said So" that makes us want to run to the theater this weekend with Mom and a gaggle of girlfriends?

Is it that this is the first powerhouse chick flick of the year? Hey, after a January that included such, er, classic releases as "Epic Movie" and "Code Name: The Cleaner," we think we've waited long enough for a quality girly movie... and we can only go see "The Holiday" so many times.

Is it the gloriously catchy, let's-throw-our-hands-up-and-embrace-our-destiny, Natasha Bedingfield girl power soundtrack?

Or is it that we need something decidedly X-chromosome-y to counteract the testosterone-fueled Super Bowl mania of this weekend?

Well, it might be a little of all of those things. But most importantly, two of our favorites from The CW are starring! Stephen Collins -- 7th Heaven's Reverend Camden -- steps out of his churchgoing gear to play Diane Keaton's hunky new love interest. And Gilmore Girls' Lauren Graham plays one of Diane's well-meaning daughters, along with actress/songbird Mandy Moore and former Coyote Ugly gal Piper Perabo. Plus, there's the return of Tom Everett Scott, who you might remember from "That Thing You Do."

We can't wait to watch Diane and Mandy's characters date, freak out, and console each other on the rocky road to love and maturity. Want a sneak peek? Here are a few more cute pics:

If They Mated: Double Date Edition

Two pairings we'd like to see:

Lauren Graham

George Clooney

Alexis Bledel

Wilmer Valderrama

Lauren and George is a no-brainer. What a classy couple they'd make. Meanwhile, Wilmer could introduce Ms. Bledel to the party circuit. How crazy would that be?!

Lauren Graham and Stephen Collins Alert!

Stephen Collins and Lauren Graham
Can't get enough of Gilmore Girls' Lauren Graham and 7th Heaven's Stephen Collins? Well, if you love both (or one or the other), you can catch them in the same film in early 2007! Here's a sneak peek at Because I Said So, which features both Lauren and Stephen and also stars Diane Keaton, Mandy Moore and Piper Perabo.

It's always great to see Lauren doing films, and Stephen Collins getting love interest status?! Squeal!!

Lauren Graham in the News!

Suddenly, Lauren Graham is everywhere (well, everywhere except on the list of Emmy winners, but we'll vent our frustrations on that one later). The lovely Gilmore Girls lady will star as herself in the huge new fall show, Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip. TV Guide's Ausiello speculated that something might be going on between Lauren and Studio 60 co-star Matthew Perry, but alas, he tells us they're just friends.

We're thrilled that Lauren gets another chance to show off her sizable talent on TV. Of course we love Gilmore Girls, but the more Lauren, the better! Will you be tuning in?
